As I said before, Cyber Monday is now in full swing. And we have all kinds of deals! Black Friday as a concept has a long and storied past. A term coined in Philadelphia, PA, it was used by Police and taxi drivers in reference to the difficulty in managing the rush of traffic. In the 60s there was an attempt in the same region to change the perceived negative term to “Big” Friday, but it didn’t take. Eventually, the slow spread of the name was connected to another idea, that of accountants recording positive fund balances in black ink, and the name was cemented.
