Memorial Day Moves Near

Memorial Day is closer than ever, and there are still probably those out there who could use something in order to help make the day special at their home. So with that in mind, let’s revisit some of the items that we have in store that might just be exactly what you are looking for to spruce up your display.

A theme that Memorial Day shares with other holidays like Red White and Blue FlagIndependence Day is a focus on patriotism. As such, a good theme for any decoration is the colors of Red, White and Blue. Naturally, American flags are one way to implement this color scheme, but not the only one by any means. We carry a wide selection of lights, for example, that carry the pattern, as well as more abstractly designed and shaped banners and flags. Between all of these options, it is quite clear that just by the color scheme, you can find all sorts of decorative options to improve your holiday.

Of course, the main point of the holiday being discussed is to support the armed forces and rememberSupport the Troops Ornament those who have been lost. Let’s look at some more of the options that allow for this in our decorations. If you have a loved one or friend in a specific service, you may find that you want to support them with the insignia of their branch. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, we have decorations addressing each. Whether rugs or tapestries, ornaments or flags, you can find what you need with us.

So hurry, if you still are looking! With just a few days before the time of Remembrance, there isn’t much time to get what you might want for it. This is a day to think about the brave souls who give everything they have for the country, and we would be proud to help you celebrate them.

Plotting out Memorial Day

One of the major holidays in May, Memorial Day is many different things. The start of Summer Vacation season, and therefore a start to summer almost as important as June 21st. A long weekend marked with picnics, get-togethers and parties, much as we’ve learned about in other articles here on this very site.

But more than anything, Memorial Day is a day of remembrance. Started after the Civil War to remember the dead on both sides, it has been expanded to all Americans who were lost in wars. And so, today we’d like to talk about items we offer here that might be useful for your Memorial Day experience.

Flag DecorationMuch like the Fourth of July, a common decoration that people enjoy displaying on Memorial Day is the American Flag, and we have no shortage of decorative options which use this distinct and popular symbol. From long garland strings like the one pictured on the left, to large decorative blankets, we carry flags in any shape imaginable. From lights to garden flags to decorative ornaments, you can find it here.

Another type of decoration that may be considered is decorations based on the Armed Forces. After all, this holiday is about them, especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, upholding what they held dear. So we are also proud to carry any number of decorations based on Soldier Throwthe Armed Forces. For a solemn, dignified image, perhaps a religiously themed wall hanging about soldiers, or a similarly styled tapestry throw blanket, such as pictured here. Of course, if you would prefer a more hopeful or happy stance on the holiday, there are options for that too, such as mixing in our own Christmas style for this Santa Claus, ready for duty.

There is almost a month, as of today, before we reach this important holiday, so don’t delay in your selections. Find the items or decorations that most suit your own needs for the holiday, even if it is as simple as a carrying case for a picnic. Have a happy spring, for summer is approaching fast.

CCEN – Celebrate Those that Serve

Welcome once again to CCEN, Christmas Central Elf News, where we give a bit of Christmas with every story! Winter Clearlight here, once more, to talk about the excitement surrounding ChristmasWatch 2012. We are getting ever closer, even as we speak, only 27 days left until the big one. And now, with Thanksgiving dinner done, the leftovers packed away, and the frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday well behind, it is time to really get excited. After all, we are now in the period that even the most stubborn Grinches can’t help but admit is the Christmas Season!

And at a time like this, it is always heartwarming to see people working hard to give something back to those who giveĀ  so much. As the Seattle PI tells, more than 20 tree farms participated in a program to provide soldiers with Christmas trees. Over 7 years, this program has managed to bring over 103,000 free trees to soldiers both stateside and overseas. To them and their families, these represent a Christmas gift that symbolizes the holiday itself.

And if you have a special person in the military, or just want to show your support to the troops, we have plenty of options to choose from! From Army to Navy, Air Force to Marines, we have items for any occasion. Ornaments, stockings, even representative nutcrackers, all are available. Give the gift of tribute this year, we suggest.
