CCEN: Winter Wonderland Styling
Welcome once again to CCEN, the news network for Christmas Central. As always, I am Winter Clearlight, your elf anchor.
The recent weather has been troubling to many people. As the wintry season wears on into its late months, people begin to feel the stress, cooped up at home. Cabin fever sets in, and people long for winter to end.
Some, as my esteemed college Peanut the Elf noted, fight back against the winter blahs by creating an escape from the season, a warm or tropical vista in their houses. But today I am here to suggest, as part of our ongoing winter reporting, that there is plenty to be gained by instead embracing the winter feel. Celebrate the cold months in style by embracing their cool tones and snowy style.
And here at Christmas Central, we have plenty that can fill that need. For example, in terms of imagery that makes one think of winter, there’s hardly anything that comes to mind faster than the Snowman. A few of these cheerful fellows around the house, and even well after Christmas they can raise spirits as a symbol of the beauty of winter.
In terms of coloration, pale and cool colors are the way to go when trying to give a winter feel to a place. Blue, for example is a big color for winter themes. So perhaps a blanket or a rug in that color for your room? There is no limit to what can be done with this.
And then there is the matter of art that represents winter. Throw pillows, for example, can represent any part of winter, and sometimes go beyond that, such as this item that has both a fall and a winter side to it. Or perhaps the house would be best suited with a reminder of winter sports, in blanket form.
To sum up, the view of this station is not to fear winter, but instead welcome it, and use it to your advantage. Make your house a striking reminder of the coldest season of the year, for your own enjoyment. Winter Clearlight here, signing off.
